Cancellations

If I need to cancel an appointment, what should I do?

First, call 914.232.1000 and leave notice of your need to cancel the appointment. If after hours, leave a message on the answering machine. Also, call  914-241-2800, Dr. Tepp's confidential voicemail and leave a message as a back-up.

What is the cancellation policy?

You are charged for all scheduled appointments, unless the office is able to reschedule your time.

As appointments are usually for 30, 45, or 60 minutes duration, your scheduled appointment is a significant part of Dr. Tepp's day, and we need to charge you if you cancel and we are unable to fill the appointment slot. However, with a few days or a week's notice, we are usually able to re-schedule your time with someone who is waiting for such a cancellation.

Can my child just come to see Dr. Tepp for therapy? Does he have to go through an evaluation first?

Dr. Tepp believes that good diagnosis always precedes good treatment. In the case that a very comprehensive evaluation has already been completed, discuss that with the office and it is likely that the "three appointment protocol," typical for most evaluations, can be shortened to one or two appointments.
